Monaco the most glamour country in Europe. Small in size, Monaco is squeezed in only 200 hectares of land that offers luxury, beauty and culture like no other place in Europe. If you are looking for the best casinos in the old continent, and experience hedonism on another level, this is your next travel destination. Despite its small size, more than 40,000 people are living there, making it the biggest populated country in the world.
The central city is Monte-Carlo. You’ve probably heard about Monte-Carlo from Bond movies playing poker in one of its casinos. Also, if you are a fan of F1, then you know about the hardest F1 track in the world. Also, in Monte-Carlo, you can find many shops for luxury cars. If you don’t plan to buy one (yeah one car $1.5 million, my daddy isn’t a millionaire!), you can always watch the story windows and get amazed by the vehicle craftsmanship!
Monaco offers good tax for the rich, thus appealing for the rich. A couple of years ago, it attracted world-famous tennis player Novak Djokovic as its inhabitant. Nearly 35% of Monaco is made from millionaires.
Monaco is located on the Frech Riviera, and the first thing you will notice when entering Monaco are the big and expensive yachts docked inside the port.
If you want to take up the role of a rich and famous person, surrounded by boats and good-looking people, then this is the perfect destination for you!
Best Time to Visit Monaco
Like every place located on the Azure coast, the best time to visit Monaco by far is summer. Winters are cold, and autumns are rainy. We recommend visiting Monaco from May till October. If you are a fan of F1 and want to see the Monaco Grand Prix, then May should be your month to visit.
How to get to Monaco?
You will probably get by plane there. Usually, all the tourist come from Nice airports. The best way to get to Monaco from Nice is by taxi. It only takes 30 minutes to get there. Also, you can go by train if you are on a budget. In Monaco, you would not need a taxi, because of its size and tourist very quickly get anywhere on foot.
Do I Need a Visa?
If you are part of the Schengen region, then you don’t need any visa. If you aren’t then you need to apply for one to enter. There is no passport control on the border with France. Security in Monaco is tight, having the lowest rate of crime in Europe. Hence, making it one of the safest countries in Europe.
What Places to Visit in Monaco?
Monaco is a kingdom. They have a royal palace that is located on the highest hill. Nextravel highly recommends visiting the Royal Palace, because it offers a great view and can teach you a thing or two about the history of this great state.
If you can’t visit Las Vegas, then this is your second choice. If you ask me, I would say it is better than Vegas. Casinos there are full of different types of people that can enrich your potential contacts. Also, the games are just magnificent. I spend 500 euros in 8 hours there, and I had so much fun (I am not a gambler, but when in Monte Carlo you gotta play the casino game!).
Walks Along The Coast
If you want to experience a unique feeling in Monaco, then take a walk along the coast and enjoy your time. We also recommend taking lunch at the Yacht Club Walk, where you can have good food but expensive. It is really worth it, the best food I’ve tasted in that part of France. You might see a celebrity or two. Who knows you might connect with some!
If you come in the summer, there are some great beach bars located near the port. At night, the port shines with life especially when the music starts playing. These beach parties are like no other – trust us and visit one!

If you visit in the summer, its quite hot so don’t pack anything with long sleeves. In winter it can get freezing, so you might need to take a warmer jacket.
Food & Drink:
First of all, restaurants and cafes in Monaco are expensive, but not as much as you think. You can still get good food for a more decent price. On the other hand, if you genuinely want to experience Monaco, then visit luxury restaurants and cafes. Our recommendations are: Le Louis is ranked in the top 100 restaurants in the world. Even though it is expensive, eating there will open new dimensions for your gastronomy knowledge. Inside, the interior will make you feel like you are inside a palace. There are many grand chandeliers, excellent fabrics and huge curtains. Also, if you love wine, you can find more than 1000 wines in their cellar.
Yeah, they are expensive, but so much luxury won’t be found in any hotel in Europe. If you are hedonist, you will need to find a high class one. Nextravel recommends The Hotel de Paris. It is one of the oldest hotels in Monaco. In front of the hotel, you can always spot luxury sports cars like Ferrari, Mclaren and others. Sadly, it is now in renovating phase, but at the end of 2019 will be again functional, so if you plan to visit then stay at Hotel de Paris.
You’ve already guessed it – with so many casinos and night clubs, Monaco has one of the most luxury nightlives in Europe. From all the restaurants, cafes, clubs and bars, you might stumble upon a celebrity. Like I said before, who knows he/she might fall in love with you!
